With statistics showing that 73% of the people in Daly City, California live in families, and 36% of those households have children under the age of 18, it's natural that education and schooling are important to the parents and families in the Daly City and San Francisco region.   Fortunately for Daly City residents, there are a number of fine public and private schools to choose from which offer parents many different options to consider when looking at education choices for their children.

The Daly City public school system encompasses six districts, Bayshore Elementary School District, (K-8 students in the Bayshore Neighborhood), the Brisbane Elementary School District, (K-8 students in the Southern Hills Neighborhood) , the two largest districts in the area, Jefferson Elementary School District, (K-8 students in Daly City except for the Bayshore, Southern Hills and Serramonte Neighborhoods) and Jefferson Union High School District, (high school (grades 9-12) students in all of Daly City except for the Serramonte Neighborhood), the San Mateo County Office of Education School District, (serving all of San Mateo County), and South San Francisco Unified School District, (for K-12 students in the Serramonte Neighborhood, south of Hickey Blvd.)

Parents who prefer religious schooling or private schools also have options here in Daly City, CA, including two Roman Catholic schools that offer a parochial education. These are Our Lady of Perpetual Help, which is located on Top-of-The-Hill and  Our Lady of Mercy. in the Westlake neighborhood.  Other private school options include the Christian Life AcademyBridgemont High School, Hilldale School,  and the Hope Lutheran School to name a few. 

There are a number of good education choices for parents in this area. Parents also can find quality preschools, day care centers and more in Daly City to help enrich the lives of their children and family.
